Tinies – Ages 3-5 years
Kids will discover that learning dance is fun. Your child will learn the Basics of Ballet, Tap and Jazz in a fun caring environment. Motor activity skills, self – esteem and confidence are developed through this class.
Prep Classes – P1 & P2
Children are introduced to a more structured class, learning the basics of either Ballet & Jazz or Tap & Hip Hop. Classes are choreographed to develop technique yet in an active and fun environment.
Ballet – Primary 3 Upwards
Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles including Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop. These classes focus on technique and body placement. It will develop strength, posture, elegance and body awareness. Dancers will be given the opportunity to sit accredited BTDA examinations which are recognised by The Council for Dance Education and Training.
Tap – Primary 3 Upwards
Tap is an exciting form of dance in which dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps. Tap dancers use their feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. This is a great style of dance for developing rhythm and co-ordination. Dancers will be given the opportunity to sit accredited BTDA examinations which are recognised by The Council for Dance Education and Training.
Jazz – Primary 3 Upwards
Our jazz classes are the most popular at Alpha Dance Academy. These classes start with a warm up, followed by exercises to develop strength and flexibility. Dancers then move on to learn basic jazz technique such as turns, leaps, and jumps while combining funky dance movements. This is an excellent class to improve technique and fitness.
Hip Hop – Primary 3 Upwards
Come and learn some of the hottest new hip hop dance moves to your favourite tracks. These high energy, funky and modern street dance style classes will help dancers enhance and improve their stamina, confidence and physical fitness. In this style of dance there is a much more relaxed feel.
Cheerleading – Primary 3 Upwards
Our Cheerleading classes are very popular. The classes consist of jumps, stunts, lifts, pom-pom work and routines. This is an excellent high energy class which will improve strength, stamina, flexibility and team work.
